You Are Doing Great

There is no right or wrong way to cope with the current global situation. There is a lot and not much going on at the same time.

It is weird. It is strange. It’s foreign and unknown. A year into it and we are still adapting. Some of us are perfectly adjusting; others never will.

There isn’t a right way to do it. There is no correct way to feel either.

I want to remind you that whatever you are doing is right, as long as it is right for you.

If you’re kicking goals, making time fly and gaining new skills, well done you. If you’ve reorganised the house, cleared your wardrobe, read a book a day and grown more than ever, because you’re doing your best - amazing job.

If you are trying to calm your racing thoughts, to relax, to forget what’s going on, because you’re doing what you can, well done you too. If you’ve completed Netflix twice, have not emptied your dishwasher in two days and tumble dryer in a week, that’s fine too.

Whether you’re on a health kick, baking bread, following all the fitspos, or eating ice cream by the kilo from the not so mysterious dent on your sofa, you deserve a medal.

It doesn’t matter if you are hiding away from the news underneath your safety blanket or staying informed, as long as what you’re doing supports you.

We are all doing the best we can. All of us, unique humans, a little or a lot lost in an unfamiliar situation. Everyone has their own capacities for dealing with the current climate. We have individual mental toolboxes and our emotional equipment varies too greatly to expect everyone to be handling this volume of uncertainty equally.

All of this will be over one day. And when that day comes, we will still want to be seen and accepted with all our quirks and things which make us special. Let’s keep being supportive of each other through everything, now, then and forever

Always spread love. Always.
